Some of the sturdiest music of the last decade has been filled with Kindness. Since Adam Bainbridge first adopted the name Kindness 11 years ago, the DJ, producer, and songwriter has become pop music’s trustiest Swiss Army Knife. They’ve composed humid, pulsing études for the alternative R&B singer Kelela. They’ve arranged saxophone and drum parts for Hynes. “Cranes in the Sky,” the song that earned Solange Knowles her first Grammy nomination and win, features Bainbridge’s synth editing (they also contributed production to three other songs on the album that song appears on, A Seat At The Table). - GQ
